The NYC-3 private rail car will be pulled by the SP 4449 to Train Festival 2009 in Owosso Michigan

The SP 4449 day-time only excursion between Portland, OR and Train Festival 2009 in Owosso, MI, will take approximately 12 private cars. The train will be operated by AAPRCO (PV association) which provided schedule and price information to members on April 12.

New York Central 3 (www.nyc-3.com), a rear-platform business car which has both a direct Vanderbilt and SP 4449 connection, will participate, leaving New York on June 19. It will travel to Portland with layovers in Washington, Chicago, Santa Fe, Los Angeles, and Oakland. Return to New York will leave Owosso on August 1 and Chicago (Lake Shore Ltd.) on August 2. Entire trip is 46 days.

We welcome day travelers on both the steam and the 5,385 miles of positioning moves. Pricing has been fixed by AAPRCO for the steam trip at a minimum of $5,000/person for the entire trip for sleeping accommodations and $500/day for day passengers, but return allowances are possible for one-way trips.
